Who is Anne Marie Lewis and what fills her days? She battles invasive plant species in her garden (take that garlic mustard and buckthorn!) She has performed on stages across the globe in operas, musical theater and plays. She speaks Japanese and longs for the days back in Tokyo when she could stretch out on her cool tatami mat redolent of fresh grass. She cheers on her athlete sons as they run around the perimeter of football fields in the spring and across fields and through woods in the autumn, hit hard leather balls with metallic sticks, and throw a rubber ball above a swimming pool while refusing to let a foot touch the bottom. She honors her rich cultural heritage in her kitchen by whipping up a mean Filipino chicken adobo or a satisfying Irish corned beef. She likens herself to the greatest of detectives as she finds missing wallets, keys, school IDs, AirPods, and eyeglasses for her family with the greatest of ease. Anne Marie will easily wax philosophical about her
undergradute major in the Great Books (yes, pun intended). With assistance from her husband and four sons, she cares for her elderly mother and adult brother with Down syndrome who both live with the Lewis family. And Anne Marie Lewis is an audiobook narrator, nominated for four SOVAS awards for her narration work in self-help, mystery, history and humor. She champions keeping humans at the heart of the creative space and frequently shares her knowledge of audiobook narration and production at writers’ conferences, on podcasts and in journals. She serves on the Education Team with Professional Audiobook Narrators Association (PANA) and is a member of the Audio Publishing Association (APA), the National Association of Voice Actors (NAVA), Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers of America, the latter two organizations giving her inspiration to finish writing her own cozy mystery.
